Abuse of children through information and communication technologies as a global criminal activity is mostly practiced and disseminated through the Internet and represents one of the most widespread forms of sexual abuse of children and minors in modern society. At the initiative of AMBER Alert Europe, NGOs in the field of child protection and law enforcement officers from 28 countries around the globe launched a campaign with the motto “THINK BEFORE YOU SHARE”.

Safer Internet Center/MFS-EMMAUS will be, based on the invitation from the Federal Police Administration and the Protocols signed with the Federal Police Administration and Brčko District Police in cases against children and young people in the digital environment and cooperation with the Ministry of Security of BiH, the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH and Federal Ministry of Interior, the manager of the global one-year prevention campaign AMBER Alert Europe 2022. The campaign will last from 25 May 2022 until 24 May 2023.

On this occasion, the Organization AMBER Alert Europe will provide material to implement the online prevention campaign, emphasizing that the focus is on preventing the spread of naked images of children and teenagers in the digital environment.  As part of the campaign, Safer Internet Center/MFS-EMMAUS will design additional material to enhance prevention and ensure additional awareness raising when it comes to violence against children in the digital environment, so that the campaign can develop and expand at the national level.

The campaign aims to prevent the sexual exploitation of children in the digital environment - sharing self-generated naked images through social networks, otherwise known as “nudes”.

Bearing in mind the importance of the initiative, as well as the prevalence of the problem of sexual exploitation and violence against children in the digital environment, the interest of all citizens is to share the available information and to start implementing activities on informing and improving prevention.
