From June 22 to July 3, 2026, a specialized training course in the field of “Immediate Security for VIP Persons” was successfully conducted by the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Agency for Training and Professional Development of Personnel in Mostar.
The training brought together 18 police officers, who during the two-week program underwent intensive theoretical and practical education aimed at enhancing their professional competencies in the field of protection for protected persons. The training program was conducted by an instructor team from the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, composed of experienced police officers with many years of experience in close protection duties.
During the training, participants acquired and improved their knowledge in the areas of planning and organizing close protection, security risk assessment, preventive action, tactical movement and formations, crisis management, as well as the coordination of protection teams under various operational conditions. A special emphasis was placed on developing practical skills through simulations of real-life security situations and the application of standard operating procedures.
As the final segment of the training, a demonstration drill titled “Police Officer Procedures and Responses During an Attack on a VIP” was conducted, during which the trainees demonstrated their acquired knowledge and skills through practicing timely responses, evacuation of the protected person, neutralization of the threat, and coordinated action by the security team under high-security-risk conditions.
The implementation of this training confirmed the commitment of the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Agency for Training and Professional Development of Personnel in Mostar to the continuous improvement of the professional competencies of police officers, strengthening their professional capacities and aligning with modern standards and best practices in the field of protection for protected persons.
Upon completion of the training, certificates for successfully completing the course were ceremoniously presented to all participants, confirming that they had successfully mastered the professional training program in the field of direct security for VIPs.
