The Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with the Ambassador of the United States of America to Bosnia and Herzegovina, organized a coordination exercise of law enforcement agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of strengthening inter-institutional cooperation and improving the joint response to complex security challenges.
The primary goal of this exercise was to harmonize and improve the Joint Operational Procedures, through expert discussion and practical work, that will represent the foundation of future joint action of police and judicial institutions in operational actions. Special emphasis was placed on improving coordination, efficiency and timely exchange of information in real and crisis security scenarios.
The joint operational exercise was implemented through a dynamic and complex scenario that includes the activities of a large transnational criminal organization. Through simulation of real operational circumstances, command and control systems, application of applicable legal frameworks, protocols for data exchange between institutions, as well as capacities for rapid and coordinated response in crisis situations were tested.
At the end of exercise, a workshop was held to analyze lessons learned, identify challenges and propose concrete improvements. The conclusions and recommendations from the workshop were directly translated into the content of future Joint Operating Procedures for Law Enforcement Agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, ensuring their practical applicability and compliance with modern security threats.
The exercise was attended by investigators from the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, members of the US Special Forces, police officers from the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), the Federal Ministry of Interior and the Police of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina continues its activities aimed at strengthening cooperation between domestic and international partners, with the aim of improving overall security and an efficient response to all forms of organized and transnational crime.
