Twenty-seven young experts of international law and justice from the prestigious Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights paid a visit to the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of B&H on 6 July 2022. The Geneva Academy is one of the world’s leading institutions for international law and cooperates with the international organisations such as the UN, the ICRS and many non-governmental organisations.
As part of the visit, the students, coming from 20 countries from all around the world, were introduced to the organisational structure of the Directorate, its responsibilities and its role that this agency has in the security system of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The specifics and modalities of the international police cooperation that takes place through the Directorate were also presented to the students who showed the most interest in the exchange of information through the secure channels of INTERPOL and EUROPOL.
On this occasion, the police officers of the Sector for protection of VIPs and facilities conducted a demonstrative tactical exercise and showed the tactics of police officers’ conduct in the situation of disruption of public order and peace.
The director of the Directorate Mirsad Vilić addressed the students and welcomed them first of all to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and then to the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH. Director Vilić stated that this type of international cooperation is multi-useful and particularly important, both for education and for building the trust of young people in the police agencies of BiH. He also emphasized that this type of education is a very good promotion of the state and police structures of BiH in the world.
