The delegation of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH participated in the 19th annual conference of heads of NCBs, which was held in Lyon, France from April 23, 2024. until April 25, 2024. The above mentioned annual conference was attended by 320 delegates from 140 INTERPOL member countries and 44 representatives of the INTERPOL General Secretariat, all members of the INTERPOL Executive Committee, as well as numerous guests.
Annual conferences of heads of NCBs enable the gathering of heads and delegations of 196 INTERPOL member countries and provide an irreplaceable opportunity for direct contacts of member countries of this international organization, where important discussions are held with the aim of improving international police cooperation in general and especially through the exchange of information, planning and implementation of numerous projects and operational actions. The INTERPOL organization has an irreplaceable role in international police cooperation and with all the existing tools and analytical capacities that are created and improved for the needs of member countries enable and improve the fight against all forms of crime at the international level.
During the Conference it was discussed about the fight against organized crime, terrorism, drug trafficking, cybercrime, human trafficking, activities related to the securing of major events, as well as specific threat assessments and numerous projects and operational actions in which NCB INTERPOL Sarajevo is successfully participating.
On the margins of the mentioned conference the delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was invited to a reception with the President of INTERPOL, Mr. Major General Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi, that was specially presented for the purpose of awarding the Certificate of Appreciation to the officer of NCB INTERPOL Sarajevo, Mr. Adi Biser on the occasion of his well-deserved retirement after more than 30 years of work in this service, who as a valuable member of the INTERPOL team is recognized for his long-term efforts and engagement in the international fight against crime, especially for his work in the European INTERPOL Committee,also as an initiator of successfully implemented operational actions of INTERPOL and a participant in numerous working groups and conferences that resulted in significant success both for the INTERPOL Organization and for Bosnia and Herzegovina as a member of it.
