The discussion focused on the establishment of the electronic data exchange system amongst the law enforcement agencies and prosecutorial offices throughout BiH. The establishment of this system was financed by the European Union through the IPA funds.
The implementation of the Data Exchange Mechanism and its sustainability is one of the remaining requirements for visa regime liberalisation, which should be urgently fulfilled in order not to undermine the visa free regime for BiH citizens.
The project implementation is being monitored by the European Commission in the framework of the post-visa liberalisation monitoring mechanism. In this context, the Commission reports to the European Parliament and the Council of the EU every six months. The next report is about to be presented soon.
