The Students of the 8th grade of elementary school "Avdo Smailović" from Sarajevo today have visited the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies, where members of the Directorate gave them a series of lectures and demonstration exercises with a focus on the topic "Behavior and procedures in the event of an earthquake".
The members of the Directorate informed the students about their competences, police powers, material and technical means and the education they are going through. Through the lecture "Behavior and procedures in the event of an earthquake", students received basic knowledge of how to behave in crisis situations.
During this lecture and demonstration exercises, the students understood the seriousness of the situations and consequences that can occur during an earthquake, if there is no timely response and in accordance with the instructions they received. In brief, they received instructions and suggestions on the direction of movement and how they will react in any situation that may happen to them and which is not planned. Among the students, the lecturers also tried to raise the awareness of the teachers about behavior due to natural disasters, such as earthquakes, fires, floods, etc.
The members of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a part of this educational event also performed a tactical demonstration exercise.
At the end of this visit, director Mirsad Vilić addressed to the students of the Elementary School "Avdo Smailović" and expressed his satisfaction for their visit and emphasized that these educations are necessary for all students and teachers. Through this type of lectures, education and exercises, the desire of the new generations for the future professional calling of a police officer is surely awakened.
