The specialist training course "Response to an Active Terrorist Attack", organized by the United States Department of Justice and the U.S. Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, was held at the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina from July 14 to 18, 2025.
The training was attended by 25 police officers from the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), the Brčko District Police, and the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton. The instructors for this training were representatives of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD).
As part of the theoretical segment of the training, participants were presented with methods of safe approach to the incident site and team protection responses when dealing with a terrorist threat, as well as other types of active attacks targeting security forces and critical infrastructure.
In addition to the theoretical segment, a series of tactical demonstration exercises were conducted in these areas, with the aim of neutralizing threats and saving human lives.
At the end of the training, participants were awarded certificates of successful completion, which will enable them to transfer the knowledge and skills they acquired to their colleagues within their own and other police agencies, with the aim of improving the quality of task and duty execution.
