The High Representative of the International Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, visited today the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH where he met with Director Mirsad Vilić and his associates.
Christian Schmidt and Mirsad Vilić discussed the security aspect of conducting the General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina scheduled for Sunday, 2 October 2022.
The High Representative was briefed about the formation of the “2022 General Elections” Operations Centre at the Directorate Headquarters, initiated by the BiH CEC and formed by the Director of the Directorate. The main task of the Operations Centre is to coordinate the work and activities of all police agencies in BiH to preserve the security environment during the entire electoral process. The Ministry of Security BiH, the Central Election Commission, the Intelligence-Security Agency of BiH, and all police agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina have taken part in the work of the Operations Centre.
Director Vilić informed High Representative Schmidt about the activity plan of the “2022 General Elections” Operations Centre during the electoral process in BiH.
The High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina thanked Mr. Vilić for the readiness of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH to undertake all actions within its responsibilities concerning the security of the electoral process in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He commended the previous work of the Directorate and pointed out that the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH is a strategic partner in the BiH security system.
