Lecturers Prof. Ph.D. Selmo Cikotić and M.Sc. Senahid Godinjak, at the headquarters of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, held a two-day educational seminar on the topic of "Leadership". The target group of this seminar is leading state and police officers and the aim of the seminar was to bring the methods and techniques of successful leadership in organizations closer.
The lecturers stated that it is necessary to develop awareness of the importance of leadership, to develop the abilities of leaders and to build leaders who can respond to demands that are obviously becoming more and more complex and larger and require faster and more comprehensive reactions. First of all, this lecture offers a large number of answers, from definitions, instructions, recommendations in different spheres of the state, security, education, management, media, army, command. Practically, it also offers a large number of instructions and solutions for all practical areas, whether they deal with police work, agriculture, art, politics, science, sports, culture.
Director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, Mirsad Vilić, thanked the lecturers and emphasized the great importance of such educations. He said that the knowledge gained at this seminar will significantly contribute to the work of both police officers and civil servants, especially when performing specific tasks and jobs. This type of education will enable listeners to acquire basic knowledge about leadership and its specifics, especially in periods of major social changes and in the context of implementing, institutionalizing and surviving change. Also they can understand the peculiarities of leadership in different state, social and security environments.
