The Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina received in a working visit a delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which from May 23 to 26, 2023. The realization of the visit came after NCB INTERPOL Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, previously addressed to the General Secretariat of INTERPOL Lyon, France to organize study visits to an active INTERPOL member state that has successfully integrated tools, services and solutions of INTERPOL for the exchange of experiences and good practices.
Considering the outstanding results and achievements of our country in this regard and the fact that our country is among the 20 best for consulting INTERPOL's databases in the world and that has actually applied a whole range of INTERPOL's police capacities in the past years, imposed the idea of NCB INTERPOL Sarajevo as a possible host for the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which was ultimately realized.
The delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was led by the head of NCB Riyadh, Colonel Abdulmlk Ibrahim ALSOGIAH and it had 11 members, including the representative of the General Secretariat of INTERPOL, Mr. Badreddin TOUIHRI.
Director Vilić welcomed the guests and presented the responsibilities and current affairs of the Directorate, pointing out the importance of communication, coordination and cooperation at the international level. He particularly referred to the good relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
During the first day of the visit at the headquarters of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of B&H to the guests were presented the structure and competences of the police bodies in B&H, the way of work of NCB Sarajevo, the use of INTERPOL’s services and tools, the coordination of operational activities on the ground, the connection of competent bodies in B&H to the INTERPOL system and other.
In the next two days for the members of the delegation was organized the visit to the headquarters of the B&H Border Police, the Sarajevo Airport border crossing point and the Bijača border crossing point.
The visit ended on May 26, 2023. by visiting the premises of the Sector for International Police Cooperation and talk with officers of NCB Sarajevo. This exchange of experiences will probably bring benefits, not only to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, but perhaps to Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region as well. This type of cooperation demonstrates to the international police community all the advantages that can be obtained by using INTERPOL's products, tools and services and also promotes the work of law enforcement agencies from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
