The Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH has begun activities and preparations for the 30th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniacs in the "UN Safe Zone of Srebrenica" since the beginning of the year.
The preparations included the collection and exchange of security information between police agencies, its analysis and assessment, participation in the work of the Coordination Committee, the Organizing Committee and the Security Subcommittee, planning of human and material and technical resources, all with the aim of creating the prerequisites for the smooth holding of the commemoration and burial of the victims.
Aimed at adequate preparations, the Directorate formed the Operational Headquarters of the "Srebrenica 2025" operation, in which members of the Intelligence and Security Agency of BiH, the Armed Forces of BiH, the State Investigation and Protection Agency of BiH, the Border Police of BiH, the Service for Foreigners' Affairs of BiH, the Federal Police Administration, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Tuzla Canton, Sarajevo Canton, Central Bosnia Canton, Posavina Canton and Una-Sana Canton, and members of EUFOR took part.
Given all security factors, risks and other important security elements, the Operational Headquarters met continuously and each information received was additionally analyzed and checked. In the daily exchange of data, no information was found that would indicate a threat to the commemoration of this event.
In the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniacs in the "UN Safe Zone of Srebrenica" participated 41 VIP delegations. The Directorate engaged a total of 229 police officers and 57 official motor vehicles for implementing security measures and actions at the Srebrenica - Potočari Memorial Complex, as well as for the direct security and escort of VIP delegations and domestic protected persons.
On this occasion, we would like to thank all agencies and their members who took part in securing the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniacs in the "UN Safe Zone of Srebrenica" for their cooperation and professionalism, which resulted that security of this event passed in order.
