The seventh-grade students of the elementary school “Avdo Smailović” from Sarajevo visited the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The visit was organized on the occasion of a class on the topic “Mine risk”, all in connection with the recent reports about explosive devices planted in public places.
The elementary school students had the opportunity to see some of the equipment that police officers use every day in their work, as well as video presentations of practical exercises through which they were introduced to the work of the police officers of the Directorate. The most successful students who answered the educational questions correctly received appropriate awards.
As part of this educational event, the Directorate police officers performed a tactical demonstration exercise “Bringing under control the persons who attacked the police officer.”
Mirsad Vilić, director of the Directorate, and Hašim Baždar, director of the elementary school “Avdo Smailović”, addressed to the students expressing satisfaction with the visit. They stated that such education is essential for all students and stressed that the desire to improve new knowledge and skills should never stop.
Director Vilić emphasized that these activities present a symbolic gesture of the police in building better relations between police and citizens, improving the security situation and strengthening and advancing the partnerships with the local community, and that the Directorate will continue to work on education and organization of similar events.
